Publisher, Charles E. Pender, Ph.D

Charles E. “CHUCK” Pender, Ph.D., serves as the Publisher of TNBUN Virginia, where he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our publication. He is also a Board-Certified Christian Psychotherapist and Certified Temperament Therapist. His extensive background includes serving as the Regional Director for the American Society of Christian Therapists, as well as holding positions as Professor and Consultant at Virginia Triumphant College and Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. A proud alumnus of Carter G. Woodson in Hopewell, VA, he has earned a BA from St. Leo’s University and furthered his education with a master’s and Doctorate concentrating in Counseling from Carolina University, in addition to a Ph.D. from Visions University, CA. His academic journey also includes studies at Virginia Union University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and he is a VCPA graduate of Virginia Tech. An ordained Minister and Pastor Evangelist with Everyday Church Inc., he has spent over nine years as a Chaplain at John Randolph Hospital in Hopewell, VA, and Hiram Davis Central State Hospital in Petersburg, VA. His distinguished career includes membership in the elite Presidential and Diplomatic Security team during the Johnson and Nixon administrations. Locally, he has been active on various boards in Hopewell and served as Chairman of the Chrystal Lake project. He is the Past President of the S.C.L.C. and currently presides over the family-owned business Anti Termite Pest and Mold Solutions. Acknowledging the divine, he credits the Heavenly Father for all his attributes and has dedicated himself to halting violence and fostering life through his work. His belief system is the cornerstone of his seminars, which focus on healing and support for those enduring hardships. As the Publisher of TNBUN Virginia, he continues to lead our publication with a commitment to making a positive impact in the community.

As a dedicated member of the TNBUN Family sales and marketing team, I am passionate about spreading positivity and uplifting, inspiring, and educating the world through our publication. With a background in computer science, I bring a unique perspective to our content creation process, allowing me to bridge the gap between technology and human connection. My commitment to our mission drives me to craft compelling narratives that resonate with our audience, sparking curiosity and fostering meaningful connections. I firmly believe that through the power of words, we can make a positive impact on individuals and communities, inspiring change, lifelong education, and a hunger for positivity.

In addition to my role, I’m driven to develop new school programming that inspires the next generation to embrace positivity, encourage innovation, and make a lasting impact. I see our publication as the catalyst for this transformation, and I’m excited to be a part of this journey, inspiring individuals to read, consume positivity, and ultimately contribute to a brighter future.

Meet Trudy Williams, our dedicated Senior Editor who embodies the spirit of community, education, and solidarity.

Trudy is a proud alumnus of Virginia State University, where she honed her skills and passion for journalism. Her journey continued as she pursued an MBA in Entrepreneurship, amplifying her understanding of business and innovation. However, Trudy’s educational pursuits didn’t stop there; she furthered her knowledge with a Master’s degree, enriching her perspective and expertise in her field.

Driven by a burning passion for education and community upliftment, Trudy has dedicated her career to amplifying voices, sharing stories, and fostering unity within Virginia’s Black community. With her experience, she recognizes the power of media in shaping narratives and believes in using this platform to empower and inspire others.

But Trudy’s mission extends beyond journalism; she is deeply committed to fostering solidarity and bringing people together. Her unwavering belief in the importance of unity is rooted in her faith and her desire to see God’s people united in purpose and action.

Trudy lives by the motto, “If not us, then who? If not now, then when?” This mantra underscores her commitment to driving change and making a positive impact in her community. Whether through her writing, editing, or community engagement, Trudy strives to be a catalyst for progress and transformation.
